How Government Abandoned Another Road Project

The people of Sabon Gari are calling on the Kano State Government to come to their rescue by completing the construction of the only road that leads in to the settlement which is largely populated by non-indigenes .
Since taking over from his predecessor former governor Kwankwaso, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is faced with numerous challenges confronting the state, among which is uncompleted road projects scattered all over the state.

The bad shape of the Sabon Gari road has affected residents economically as it prevents them from conducting their day-to-day businesses causing untold hardship. More so, the road is no longer motorable due to the heap of refuse and other wastes which brings much discomfort.

A resident, Adebayo Israel, lamented that government intentionally abandoned the project because majority of the inhabitants of the area are non-indigenes, while other areas enjoy very good roads, drainages as well as street lights.

Another resident who is a lawyer, Chris Agbo said: “It is sad that government abandoned the work. Due to the nature of the road now, nothing is going on in Sabon Gari area and our businesses are not being patronized because nobody is coming to buy things from us.”

Investigation carried out revealed that getting into Sabon Gari is very difficult as the road leading into the area is not motorable.
