Here are the biggest events in sports you cannot miss this weekend:
2015/2016 EPL SEASON KICKS-OFF
The biggest event in football this weekend is the kick-off of the 2015/2016 English premier league season. Manchester United kick off the new season against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
The fixtures on Saturday:
12:45pm: Manchester United – Tottenham Hotspur
3pm Bournemouth – Aston Villa
Everton – Watford
Leicester City – Sunderland
Norwich City – Crystal Palace
5.30pm: Chelsea – Swansea City
On Sunday:
1.30pm: Arsenal – West Ham United
Newcastle – Southampton
4pm: Stoke City – Liverpool
COPPA ITALIA
The Supercoppa Italaina will be contested between Juventus (Serie A
champions) and Lazio (Coppa Italia runners-up). The match will be
played on Saturday, August 8th at the Shanghai Stadium in Shanghai,
China.
The two teams have met twice (1998, 2013), each winning once.
GLO NPFL ENTERS MATCH DAY 22
The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) continues this
weekend. Sunshine Stars of Akure still top the table with 39 points
followed by Enyimba on 38 points while Warri Wolves on 36 points
completes the top three.
At the other end of the table Taraba FC sit bottom with 16 points.
Above them is Bayelsa United with 19 points, Dolphins FC with 20 points
and Sharks FC with 21 points.
ATP CITI OPEN
This weekend the ATP Citi open championships will continue in
Washington this weekend. The competition is part of the US Open Series, a
North American lead-up of events to the last Grand Slam tournament of
the season, the US Open, in New York City.
The semi-finals will be played on Saturday while the finals will be played on Sunday.
The quarter-final clashes are:
