Oil Pipeline Vandals Kill 3 DSS Officials In Lagos

Armed oil pipeline vandals on Tuesday unleashed mayhem in Ikorodu area of Lagos State killing about three officials of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) in the attack.
The residents who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of being attacked said the DSS operatives were in Ikorodu on condolence visit to the home of their late colleagues when the vandals who thought that the security operatives had come to arrest them suddenly opened fire on them.
“We live at their mercy here. They have killed all the landlords in Owutu who at one time or the other tried to report them to the government. They are above the law and can kill anyone that dares them,” he said.
It was learnt that the attack is coming as two suspected vandals who were said to have been the mastermind of the September 1, 2015 killing of four policemen attached to Owutu Police Division and Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, at Ishawo were currently being held by the police.
The vandals were also said to have gone on rampage because the suspects who were currently being quizzed by operatives of the special anti-robbery squad at the state command headquarters, Ikeja, were helping the police to hunt and arrest the other suspects.
The attack is the second time in two weeks that the vandals would unleash terror on security operatives.
It will be recalled that three policemen from the special anti-robbery squad and Owutu police division, were attacked and killed, while one was critically injured On August 30.
