Following a recruitment exercise which began in April this year, Kaduna Electric has disclosed plans to begin an induction programme for about 3,000 successful candidates.
The induction which will last for two days, according to a statement yesterday by the company’s head of Corporate Communications, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, will be followed by an intensive training programme to fully orient the new employees into the culture and systems of the company.
Members of the company’s board of directors, led by the chairman, Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar, and managing director, Mr Garba Haruna, as well as a representative of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, are expected to address the new employees during the induction, Abdullahi said.
The induction exercise will take place simultaneously in Kaduna and Sokoto states, and while new employees from Kaduna and other non franchise states will be inducted in Kaduna, all intakes from the franchise states of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states will be inducted in Sokoto, the statement informed. The training programme will be conducted by selected industry professionals with a view to sharpening the skill sets of the new staff to enable them deliver on their key performance indicators.
Over 50,000 candidates had applied for various positions on the company’s recruitment portal in April this year after it announced plans for the creation of about 15,000 direct and indirect jobs.
